LIT | via PR Newswire | Virgin Hotels will open in December, Taking reservations today | GLASGOW, Scotland — The second Virgin Hotels to launch in the UK will open its reservations today ahead of December opening | The luxury lifestyle hotel brand Virgin Hotels, which was founded by Sir Richard Branson and is now owned and operated by Virgin Group, has announced that reservations are now open for the Virgin Hotels Glasgow, with bookings beginning on December 1st. On the hotel’s website, which can be accessed at https://virginhotels.com/glasgow/, reservations can be made in advance.
The hotel will be located on the banks of the River Clyde and will have 240 rooms spread out over 15 floors. It will also have four different dining and drinking establishments, including the playful and sophisticated Commons Club, the flagship restaurant and bar of Virgin Hotels, which serves as a modern-day social club; Highyard, which can be used for entertaining, co-working, and dining; Funny Library Coffee Shop; and the sophisticated late-night bar, Rocks. The hotel is located in a fantastic location in the city center, and it offers stunning views across the River Clyde to the south and the heart of Glasgow to the north. As a result, it is an excellent place to use as a base from which to explore the city.
The Chambers offer a comfortable spot to rest in after a day spent visiting the city. Featuring the unique layout of Virgin Hotels, which consists of two separate areas, the Chambers are bright and airy with warm textiles and furnishings acquired locally. The Dressing Room is equipped with a full vanity, closet space large enough for two people, a cosmetic desk with a well-lit mirror, an extra-sized shower with an integrated bench, and products made by Arran of Scotland. It is separated from The Lounge by a sliding door or a drapery, which features a bed with a patented ergonomic design and a tufted headboard, a red SMEG mini-fridge that is generously stocked with a curated selection of local products, a television, and ample outlets for smartphones, laptops, or other devices.
The newly opened Virgin Hotels Glasgow will have a variety of tastefully arranged suites available. The Sir Richard’s Flat suite is the hotel’s flagship accommodation, and it is decorated in a retro-luxurious style. It has a personal bar, a games table, and a beautiful velvet sofa, which together provide a social environment within the suite. Guests of Sir Richard’s Flat will find musical references throughout the property, including one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork inspired by records, as a salute to the legacy of the Virgin record label.
Lady B’s Flat will feature floor and wall tiling inspired by alabaster, spreads over 69 square meters, and provides guests with a light, airy, and soft space with exquisite furniture and a large, curved bath. The flat was inspired by and named after Richard Branson’s wife, Joan, who is a proud Glaswegian. The Kasbah Tamadot Suite, which is decorated in a Moroccan style, is another option for those who are searching for something a little bit different. The tranquil suite has heritage wood panels that have been hand-carved, and it also has a lavish bathtub that is covered with tiles in the style of Morocco. These elements were inspired by the same-named property that Virgin Limited Edition owns in Morocco.
The Virgin Hotels Glasgow will soon open in the city’s central district, joining other notable local establishments such as restaurants, music venues, and boutique hotels. Silk Property Group is responsible for the development of the hotel, and they commissioned Twenty First Architects to work on the hotel. Four-By-Two, a design studio based in the United Kingdom, was chosen to curate the hotel interiors in accordance with the localized approach to design taken by Virgin Hotels. Because the company has experience working on residential and boutique commercial projects, they are the ideal choice to design spaces that are inviting and comfortable, while also incorporating local nuances and historical aspects.
“We’re thrilled to share our second hotel in the UK in a completely different city, Glasgow,” said James Bermingham, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Hotels. “Virgin Hotels Glasgow will feature neighbourhood-driven design and various restaurant and bar offerings. We truly believe the hotel will be the ideal hub for visitors wanting to soak up this vibrant city while enjoying authentic experiences. Glasgow showcases fantastic museums and galleries, a thriving music scene, and innovative food and drinks outlets, and we cannot wait to open.”
The hotel has been developed and is owned by Silk Property Group and managed by Virgin Hotels.
Reservations are now being accepted for stays starting 1st of December 2022 and can be made directly on the hotel’s website https://virginhotels.com/glasgow/.
